The Charity:

Reach is a U.K. charity for Children with Hand or Arm Deficiency, providing support for both the children and their parents. Reach is a small charity and we hope the money we raise will make a real difference. The Ride:

"Bad roads, steep gradients and unpredictable weather don’t make Iceland an obvious choice for cycling…" This is the encouraging entry in The Rough Guide to Iceland. On the plus side we have been told that "it probably won’t snow".

So why are we doing it? Well any idiot can ride from Land’s End to John O’Groats: it takes a special kind of idiot to do something like this. We feel we may be the pair of idiots this challenge requires. It’s a journey of around 850 miles, across lava fields, passed huge glaciers, over volcanoes and through some stunning scenery. It’s the land of screeching headwinds, cool summers and horizontal rain; the perfect place to go cycling for 8 hours a day…

We are hoping to raise lots of money for a very worthy charity, but if we are going to get people and organisations to separate which some serious cash we need to do something a little more “Bear Grylls” than cycling from London to Brighton.
